ANIMAL UTOPIA, Essenheimer Kunstverein

From 19.03.2021 to 05.04.2021 my next solo show takes place at Essenheimer Kunstverein, near Mainz. “Animal Utopia – this is not only a catalog of the artist Hartmut Kiewerts, but also the title of the exhibition of the Kunstverein Essenheim. Hartmut Kiewert, born in 1980 in Koblenz, is interested in an equal coexistence of animals and humans. His painting shows a world without boundaries. Boundaries between the domineeringly ordered habitats of animals and humans no longer exist. Animals populate the space of civilization created by man in a utopian manner. The colorfulness of the accompanying phenomena of civilization of the people depicted discreetly drowns out the natural colorfulness of the fellow creatures – at second glance, the liberated animals become clear. The so naturally staged encounters of the images must first come together when viewing. After studying at the art academy in Halle (Burg Giebichenstein) and at the TU in Berlin Kiewert finds a very personal, respectful perspective on the coexistence of animals and humans beyond free-market valuation maxims, which he illustrates in a skillful manner. You are cordially invited to this exhibition – Look forward to a colorful journey into utopian worlds.” – Essenheimer Kunstverein about the exhibition Opening March 19. 2021, 6 pm (from 18:20 public with pre-registration) Exhibition duration 20. “To identify with others is to see something of yourself in them and to see something of them in yourself – even if the only thing you identify with is the desire to be free from suffering.”
