My large-format painting “No Cars Go” can be seen in the hybrid special exhibition of the New Saxon Art Association #EmergencyBreak in the Albrechtsburg Meißen. The exhibition runs from 10.01. to 21.03.2021. The association about the exhibition:
“With the annual program “Emergency Break”, the new Saxon Art Association had designed a format for 2020 that artistically interprets the growth paradigm of globalizing markets with dwindling natural resources of our planet. We sketched the experimental field: worst case, hour O, an inventory as a real alternative or chimera before the gau – with question marks.

Now reality has caught up with us. With the Corona crisis, we are witnessing how highly developed societies around the world are radically slowed down, how economic and social life comes to a virtual standstill. The scenario seems like a rehearsal for an emergency, yet surreal. Until the end of June 2020, more than 130 Saxon artists from the fields of painting, graphics, sculpture, installation, videography and poetry participated in the call for entries of the Neuer Sächsischer Kunstverein e.V. and submitted their works for “Emergency Break”. We see this situation also as a chance to face the urgent questions of our time. Today, more than ever, it is a question of fundamental rights of freedom, it is a question of people and the question of how we can demand and secure quality of life in the future. How do we actually want to live?

The hybrid special exhibition “Emergency Break” at Albrechtsburg Castle in Meissen also integrates other current projects of the New Saxon Art Association in its 30th year of existence.

Until mid-March 2021, the rooms will be filled processually representationally and virtually in the form of interactions between the participating artists*, their works and society as observers and guests.”
