1.5 Grad / GG3, Berlin

From 15.01.2021 to 12.03.2021 I will participate at the international exhibition “1.5 degrees” at GG3 – Gallery for Sustainable Art in Berlin with my painting “Study to No Cars Go”.

To reach or not to reach the 1,5° climate goal
Object, Installation, Photo, Painting, Video, Reading

The curators about the exhibition:
“The 1.5-degree target is understood to mean the goal of limiting the man-made global temperature increase through the greenhouse effect to 1.5 degrees Celsius by 2100 from the level before the start of industrialization. Almost all the states of the world have signed the Paris Convention, according to which they intend to make efforts to achieve the 1.5 degree target. Climate researchers doubt that we will reach this goal – we are already at 2 degrees. There is a lack of political will. Fridays for Future is fighting make state fulfill the contract.

What has to change to reach the goal? Researchers have developed scenarios that show ways. For example, increasing the price of CO2 to 100€/ton. Renewable energies like wind power and solar energy can be used instead of fossil fuels. We humans can live well and in a climate-friendly way.

What images do artists create on the theme? We are pleased about the many submissions and have selected exciting ones.”

“The position that non-human animals occupy in our cultural imagination is proof for how easy it is to accept the lower status of some beings without even a second thought.”
