Animal Instincts / Galerie Bengelsträter, Düsseldorf

This summer I am featured with several works in the exhibition Animal Instincts at Galerie Bengelsträter. The exhibition explores the relationship between humans and animals, as well as between humans and nature.

“Animals reflect our own primal nature. In a world dominated by technology and concrete, they embody what we are gradually losing: pure instinct. The exhibition invites visitors to rethink the hierarchies between species and to recognize the fundamental equality of all creatures. In doing so, ‘animal instincts’ explores this tension; with humor, irony, and a deliberate wink, the works on display reveal the absurdity of our alienation from nature.”

“The position that non-human animals occupy in our cultural imagination is proof for how easy it is to accept the lower status of some beings without even a second thought.”
